The late great Dorian Lane was a famous cabaret artist from the East End of London and was still singing and recording six months before she passed away at the age of 83. She spent a lot of the latter part of her life doing charity singing (together with her pianist and friend Ray Strachan) to the disabled and senior citizens. She was well known when after finishing a session singing in senior citizens homes saying “I am older than most of them here”.
